Antimicrobial and antioxidant activity of impregnated pectin and alginate based bio composite packaging material for fresh produce safety

چکیده
The objective of the presented work was to develop, characterize and evaluate biodegradable, proactive, protective, novel active packaging blend films low methoxy pectin sodium alginate identify their antimicrobial antioxidant ability with plant-based natural phytochemicals like cinnamaldehyde. Different were prepared in different ratio (75% ± 25% alginate) (100% pure pectin), alginate), Pectin+200µL cinnamaldehyde), 75% pectin+25 alginate+700µL activity tested against foodborne pathogens E. coliO157:H7 (MTCC 90), Salmonella Typhi 733) zone inhibition recorded. On basis linear correlation analysis (R2), free radical scavenging 10% bio-composite incorporated 0.30% cinnamaldehyde blends 0.9235 for DPPH scavengers where citric acid used as a positive control. film characterized by TGA, DSC, FTIR, XRD result shown significant effect on thermal behavior.
